Join Team SAFE?

Team SAFE is a club of Coronado Middle School students who take a pledge not to use alcohol, tobacco or other drugs. Team SAFE meetings and prevention education workshops are held once a month on campus during school lunch times. Monthly opportunities for community service, peer leadership, and participation in numerous Coronado Recreation events are elements of the Team SAFE program. In addition to being in a safe, drug-free environment, Team SAFE members receive a discount off Coronado Recreation programs including teen dances and Friday night events. |

Join Trading Card Club!

The Trading Card Club (TCC) is a cross mentorship activity enlisting the participation of both High School and Elementary School aged children. Primarily developed to encourage high school drug usage abstinence, Trading Cards is much more than just another on-campus club. Each youth who vows not to use tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs receives a ‘baseball style’ trading card featuring the student's photo and 'stats'. Included within the statistics each student is given the opportunity to tout their school-based participation and successes as well as list their personal 'motto'. The younger children collect, and trade these cards and they enjoy regular lunchtime visits from their Trading Card mentors. TCC members also participate in school and community philanthropic activities thus encouraging a vested interest in the future of the city in which they live. |
