Since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, many of us are experiencing a heightened amount of stress. Reach out for support before these common experiences become too overwhelming:

  • Experiencing sadness or disappointment

  • Fear of the unknown

  • Feelings of loneliness and isolation

  • Irritability and increased frustration amongst family members

  • Inability to concentrate and difficulty carrying out normal tasks

  • Obsessively monitoring coronavirus symptoms and related news

  • Feeling panicked when you hear talk of the virus or difficulty with breathing

  • Trouble with sleeping or staying asleep

  • In children and teens, seeing more “acting out” behaviors

Experiencing a global pandemic and physical distancing is a new and difficult experience for everyone. If you or someone you know could use a wellness check, Coronado SAFE, a local non-profit, provides connection and community through low-cost coaching and counseling.

Due to the mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, SAFE's counseling services (teletherapy) now provides free brief wellness checks available to all community, particularly to those most vulnerable or at-risk of anxiety and depression. At the end of the check-in, appropriate resources and referrals will be made. SAFE can also help residents navigate other resources within the community and greater San Diego. Contact SAFE at Counseling@CoronadoSAFE.org or 619-478-4066. Visit www.CoronadoSAFE.org for more resources and stay connected by liking us on Facebook.
