Job Description 

The Communications Coordinator position is part-time, paid hourly, with an estimated time commitment of 5-20 hours per week depending on workflow.  You will work directly with Coronado SAFE’s Executive Director to promote community awareness of the organization’s counseling and educational programs through online & print communications and social media outlets.  This position is responsible for developing and updating website content, writing and producing written/graphic materials for online & print publications, and supporting public relations, marketing & fundraising initiatives as needed. 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Update, create, and manage website content 

  • Coordinate social media presence & communications 

  • Write and distribute press releases/articles for local news outlets 

  • Coordinate SAFE’s online & print presence with external marketing & promotions support and Board members 

Qualifications: 

  • College degree in English, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent experience producing online & print communications in a non-profit or corporate setting 

  • Able to multitask and comfortable prioritizing projects 

  • Superior writing, editing, and verbal communications skills 

  • Experience producing and managing online content and written material 

  • Experience promoting and maintaining a social media presence 

  • Strong interest in graphic design (Photoshop, InDesign) and photography helpful 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and comfort with Google Forms, Docs & Sheets desired
